About Our Chapter
Welcome to the Texas Alpha Chapter of Pi Beta Phi!
I am incredibly grateful to serve as the Chapter President this year! Pi Phi has blessed me with loyal friendships, unparalleled leadership opportunities, and community service involvement. While the transition to college can be difficult, Pi Phi immediately provided me with a supportive and close-knit community. One of my favorite aspects of Pi Phi is that regardless of age, major, or hometown, Pi Phi has fostered a unique bond amongst each of our chapter members. I have been so blessed over the past three years to have followed in my mother’s footsteps and been part of such an encouraging group of women.
While 2020 presented a challenge to our chapter engagement, our members’ resilience has proven strong. In 2021, we are implementing innovative ways for virtual engagement for our members. Although we are unable to host our traditional philanthropy, sisterhood, and alumnae events, we are seeking alternative methods to continue to foster the unique sisterhood that our members enjoy. In lieu of visiting Austin ISD elementary schools, our chapter members will begin to virtually read to local students. Moreover, our chapter is seeking innovative ways to support Read>Lead>Achieve, Pi Beta Phi’s philanthropic effort. Read>Lead>Achieve instils a lifelong love of reading that can unlock true potential by creating a more literate and productive society. Although we will not be able to host our typical philanthropy events, our chapter members’ desire for philanthropic engagement remains. Our VP Community Relations and Directors of Service and Philanthropy are diligently working to continue to support literacy efforts. Regarding sisterhood events, we are working to foster virtual and small group engagement amongst our chapter members in order to further the strength of our community. Despite the challenges presented by the pandemic, our chapter leadership team continues to seek methods to promote Pi Phi’s core values of lifelong commitment, sincere friendship, and philanthropic service to others. We are looking forward to the Fall 2021 semester, where we will hopefully be able to return to our traditional events.
I am so proud of each member of our chapter and each of their accomplishments, which all serve as testaments to the Pi Beta Phi core values. I am so honored to serve as the Texas Alpha Chapter President and I am looking forward to working with and leading such an impressive group of women. Thank you for taking the time to visit our website and don’t hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions!
